Inunakisan Shipporyuji Temple

The name of the mountain, which means dog barking, is derived from the legend of a loyal dog that saved its master's life from a giant snake. Mt. Tomyogadake, which is the highest mountain in Izumisano City, is home to a sutra mound.
The Katsuragi Shugen faith has continued to be practiced here into the modern day.

This temple is located in a valley along the Inunaki River in Fudodani in a deep part of the Izumi Mountain Range in the Ogi area. It is a main training ground for Katsuragi Shugen, which is said to have been founded by En-no-Ozunu in 661, as well as the eighth of Katsuragi twenty-eight sutra mounds. An entry dated July 20, 1501, in the Masamoto-ko Tabihikitsuke reports the arrangement of a ritual to pray for rain by priests of Shipporyuji Temple at Takimiya Shrine (Hibashiri Jinja Shrine), which was the representative shrine in Iriyamada Village.
