Painting of Inunakisan Shipporyuji Temple and Ogi Village
The scenery of Shipporyuji Temple and settlements at the foot of the mountain, as well as the natural landscape of surrounding mountains and rivers, coincides with the current fascinating historical scenery.
This painting of the village, which has been passed down in Hibashiri Jinja Shrine, was one of the paintings of individual villages that Kishiwada Domain ordered to be submitted. It is estimated that this painting was produced during the Tenpo period (1831-1845) because it shares the same drawing style and other features as the Painting of Hineno Village (a Tangible Cultural Property designated by Izumisano City) from the early modern period, although the painter is apparently different.
The painting is composed of the grounds of Shipporyuji Temple at the top (southeast) and the settlements of Ogi Village at the bottom. The expression of features around Shipporyuji Temple, such as ridgelines and waterfalls, is characteristically much more detailed than those of Ogi Village.
